Nanny Passed away recently

Nanny died Aug 20 around 1:50AM.

A few weeks before this she had fallen at home and broke her neck. After getting out of the hospital she went to my Mom's house to recover. Well Nanny got up to pee in the middle of the night and fell again. That was Aug 7.

She was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. She'd make a little progress then take two steps back. Tucker made her a get well card that she just loved. She had a seizure then after that it was a long slow decline. It was sad to watch her go like that. I know that's not the way she would have wanted but she's a fighter so even though she wasn't really too concious she was hanging on.

She passed in the middle of the night. I'd hoped to be there but I wasn't. I guess she wanted to go when it was quiet.

The last few weeks have been stressful but hopefully after this weekend we can get back to a somewhat normal life.

Until next time....Bye!!!

Memorial day weekend 2011

Kim took Friday off so we could have a 4 Day weekend. Friday we took Tucker to Jumpmania in Springfield. He had a ball but started getting cranky so we went home. Saturday we woke up and saw that Tucker had a rash on his belly and legs. Considering his history we took him to the Urgent Care at Cox South.

They said he had strep, the LPN in the waiting room said it looks like a strep rash and a throat swab confirmed it. He wasn't feeling too bad but you could tell he wasn't 100%.

Monday, Kim and her Mom woke up sick. Tucker was back to full speed and I wasn't sick. I kinda cleaned house while Tucker played. Kim and her Mom felt like crap all day. It's Tuesday and both Kim and her Mom are still sick. So anyway, that's what happened here this weekend.

A big thumbs up to all the vets out there.

So until next time....Bye!!!

Tucker went to the dentist today.

He has an adult tooth coming in slightly behind his baby teeth so today we had the dentist check it out.

She said that it shouldn't be a problem. The dental hygienist commented on how clean his teeth were. Tucker, of course, was like a trooper. He asked lots of questions but he's just naturally curious. Everyone was great with him so his 1st experience was a good one.

My Uncle Ed died a few days ago and of course I have guilt about how I should have seen him more. But there's nothing I can do about it now so I'm trying not to focus on it too much. But I'll miss him.

Anyway, until next time.....Bye!!!

Yesterday was Easter

We were supposed to go up to my parent's house yesterday but my Dad was sick. He has a sinus infection so we never made it up there. We stayed home and Tucker played with his Mario action figures that he got.

It's been raining here for the last 3 days and everything is just soaked. The back yard looks like a jungle. Kim has been doing coupons lately so we have gobs of cereal. Yay!!! Tucker is at that age where he doesn't want to eat anything except hot dogs and mac and cheese. I guess most kids go through that phase.

Tucker's schooling is going good. The biggest problem he has is he doesn't like writing practice, but neither did I so he comes by it honestly. He really likes learning about the US presidents and history which is cool. He also likes science too. His reading and spelling are coming along fine too.

All in all things are going OK, can't complain too much...but I do.

Anyway, until next time....Bye!!!

We went to Silver Dollar City...

For the 1st time this year last Saturday. Tucker had a great time but Kim and I were sore Saturday. It would be nice if that place was flat. Oh well, Tucker rode the Fire in the Hole and loved it. He rode it when he was 4 but it was a bit too scary for him but he said he'd try it again when he was 6. And he did. I wish I could ride the rides, I always loved Fire in the Hole.

Yesterday was spent just sitting around and being lazy. But now it's Monday and I've got to get back to cleaning this house and schooling that boy. He's been working on the Presidents lately and has most of them memorized.

Other than that things are about the same. Just living life and watching Tucker grow up.

So until next time.....Bye!!!!

Well Spring came and went....

And it's cold and wet outside. A week ago or so it was in the 70's and sunny. But this is to be expected this time of year. But it still sucks.

Things are starting to get back to normal. Tucker is starting to catch up on his education and getting more active.

Dale started fading last Winter but as its warmed up a bit he's rebounded so maybe he'll be OK.
Other than that things are about the same. We're broke but generally happy so I reckon it balances out. Plus both cars are paid for and we don't have massive debt so we have that to be thankful for.

Well I'm gonna get off of here for a while....Until next time....Bye!!!!!

Well Tucker is 6

Tucker turned 6 Saturday. Crazy ain't it? He had a good birthday. He got all kinds of cool stuff, including the Nintendo DS he wanted. It was pretty expensive but considering what he's been through the last couple of months he deserves it.

He is getting so big. He's reading and he is learning about the Presidents right now. It's so good to see him grow up. Although I must admit that I sometimes miss baby Tucker. 6 year old Tucker is way too busy to give too many hugs and kisses, he's got stuff to do. I know it's cliche but I cannot believe how fast time goes by, especially when you have kids.

But now we've got to start getting ready for Spring and Summer, as usual we have plans to get out and do stuff. When it's cold we tend to stay in the house but when it warms up we get cabin fever and try to get out more.

So, until next time....Bye!!!
