What's with this crazy weather?
This Summer has been extremely cool. We've had a few normal hot days but for the most part it's been much cooler than normal. I went outside today and it was probably 70 degrees. This was about 1:30 in the afternoon. Normally it's about 95 with about 75% humidity, pretty damn hot.
Other than that just trying to get by. What I want to know is why are there so many gov't programs out there to help people who are behind on their house payments or are deep into credit card debt but people who get into financial trouble with things that are beyond their control(like medical bills) are SOL?
I have a lot of medical bills and student loans. A few years ago I knew I couldn't do physical labor jobs anymore and went to school to get a new career. While in school I was diagnosed with cancer. I beat the cancer but was left totally disabled afterward. All that time laying around recovering trashed pretty much what strength was left in my back.
So now I'm in debt for things that were not basically me doing stupid shit, like getting a bunch of credit cards or buying a house I couldn't afford. But yet if I had done those things the gov't wants to help me.
Helping people with their mortgages, going after the credit card industry etc etc. NONE of these people who got into trouble were forced to get the credit cards they have or try and get a bigger because because mortgage rates were low. But they did these stupid things but now the taxpayer gets to bail them out.
I have another gripe too, it's with all these people in trouble because their adjustable rate mortgage rates went up. How friggin stupid are these people? If you buy a house with an ARM and the rates are at an all time low, exactly which way do you think your "adjustable" rate is going to "adjust"? That's right dumbass, UP!!!!
But that's OK, us taxpayers will help you out, Heaven forbid society tells you "Tough shit, don't be so fucking stupid next time"
I do have a bit of good news, I won a free Leatherman tool on http://forum.multitool.org/index.php
That's where I hang out nowadays.
