Neat product but after I poked around the website a little I became aware that while cops can get air cartridges that will reach up to 35 feet us lowly civilians can only get the 15 foot model. I was actually considering getting one of these but I don't think I will now. I asked them why us civilians can only get the short range model and they said police studies show that MOST Taser firings are at 7-10 feet. Obviously they realize that sometimes bad things happen at longer ranges or they wouldn't offer longer range cartridges. But us civilians aren't able to buy these.

I get so sick of the concept that cops are somehow "more valuable" than us. If someone is a "cop killer" that somehow makes them more "evil" than a regular murderer. Cops, who usually have back up, can get better self defense items than us people who usually have to face these problems alone. I can tell you there's not a cop in this country that is more important than the average janitor or fast food worker. And the more cops perpetuate this "we're more important than civilians" attitude the more people like me are going to say "up yours. No you're not.

If you think universal health care is the answer go hang out at a VA. I've seen gov't run health care, I waited 2 years to have a surgery because I had to wait on all the red tape crap. If universal health care is so good then why do the Canadians who can afford it come to our country and get treatment instead of doing it back home? Because gov't run health care SUCKS!!!!

If you want something screwed up then let the gov't run it. You think health care is expensive now? Wait until it's free.

AFC and NFC championships

Today's the day we've all been waiting for. I love my Bears but I kinda hope they lose because I'm thinking the Pats will win it all again. Yeah Indy has home field advantage but, like Marty Schottenheimer, Tony Dungy just can't seem to win playoff games. I'd like to see Indy win though. Only to lose to the Bears in the big game. My predictions

Saints over the Bears 21-13 and Pats over the Colts 31-20.

Good news

My Dad went to the Dr today, he does have cancer but it isn't melanoma. It's a squamous cell cancer and isn't the kind to spread to other parts of the body. It usually stays put. So the next step is they're gonna remove it, confirm what it is and see what happens from there. Thank God.

Massive ice storm

We had a massive ice storm this weekend. But it missed us by about 3 miles. The northern part of my little town(Ozark Mo) is where it stopped. Springfield and areas north got nailed. It hit Friday night and as of tonight there's still about 100,000 without power throughout the area. We lost power for about an hour. We got lucky, however if it had hit we would have been OK. We have a propane space heater, a propane stove, lots of blankets, candles, kerosene lamps, several flashlights, lots of soup and a 55 gallon barrel full of water. Plus 6 animals to cuddle up with if it got too cold.

Some good(and not so good) football this weekend. Chicago won but played like crap. I wouldn't be surprised if New Orleans beats them this weekend. In fact I hope they do so Chicago doesn't get embarrassed in the Supwer Bowl as New England will probably win it this year.

Two missing boys have been found. I can't even begin to imagine the pure hell that these kids parents went through. I'm a person who believes the Constitution is almost perfect but in punishing bastards who kidnap and hurt children I truly believe that "cruel and unusual" punishment is warranted. More tolerance is good but it scares me that they're more "liberal". Of course our wonderful public school system has successfully indoctrinated these kids to believe that the gov't is the solution to our problems. Of course this isn't true but it's too late. Well the playoffs start today

Go Chiefs!!!!! I'm not expecting too much as I don't want to get my hopes up but there's always hope. I don't know why I root for the idiots, they just break my heart every year but I guess that makes me a loyal fan. I've been rooting for the Bears for 20 some odd years too but at least I've seen them win a Super Bowl. Oh well, soon football will be over and spring will be here.

My New Years resolution this year is to study the Bible more and also get out more. We need to quit being hermits. I wanna go fishing and camping this year.

My Dad has cancer

My step-father who basically raised me was diagnosed with cancer in his eye. Mom told me it was ocular melanoma. So right now we're all praying that they caught it early enough and that it hasn't metastasized. More info as I get it.
