Well August is almost over....

and Fall is coming. I love Fall, it's my favorite time of year. This Summer has been pretty mind temperature wise except for about a week or two of really hot weather. It's been a pretty moderate Summer. Lot's of rain too.

Coming up in the near future we have a concert at the church. On Sept. 13 we're having Ernie Couch and Revival play. They sing Southern Gospel and some 50's sounding rock. hey're pretty good, Kim and I saw them at a church near us a few months ago.

The weekend before last Tucker got his 1st real strike. It didn't touch the bumpers at all. He was pretty excited.

I'm still feeling about the same, I hurt a lot and I'm taking a lot of pain pills but I'm surviving. Maybe one of these days I'll be back to normal. But at least I'm here. I admit though, the last couple of years have taken a lot of wind out of my sails. I'm simply not quite the man I use to be. The medical problems have taken a lot out of me, but dammit I ain't giving up.

It's been a while

Nothing exciting has happened so I haven't been on here. The biggest thing is we're broke. I mean BROKE. The Focus has been broke down about a month but we can't afford to fix it. Other than that things are about the same. We had the primaries last night. Karen from church was up for reelection for Christian County treasurer. She won so that's good.

I had my 1st "cane-fu" class last night. Since I've been walking with a cane for about a year now it's obvious to me I could possibly be using it for the rest of my life. I've always wanted to learn a martial art but with my back that was always a dream, but now I can still learn one. There's a lot of wicked moves one can do with the cane. Some are simple but some are complicated. It's a perfect self defense weapon. You can carry it anywhere. I just pray I never have to.

Football started last weekend!!!! Yay!!!! It's only preseason but I'll take it. Sadly the Chiefs probably won't be worth a shit this year. Oh well, they're "rebuilding" so maybe in a couple of years. I doubt they'll do anything as long as King Carl is there. He's such a douchebag.
