Happy Halloween

I went to the Dr yesterday. I have a CT scan on my back scheduled for the 27th of November. Hopefully they will be able to determine what in the hell is wrong with me. I also have a stress chest for my heart scheduled. I've been having some chest pains lately.

We don't have any huge plans for tonight. We may take Tucker to a few houses in the neighborhood. We also volunteered to hand out candy at the church for their thing. Tucker is going as Tigger this year. It's pretty cute. Next year I get to pick his outfit. I'm thinking we'll both be Elvis.

I may have mentioned that my lab-shar-pei mix has terrible allergies. We're giving him a series of allergy shots. Yesterday I bought him some "organic" food. I heard it is really good with dogs that have allergies. A lot of shar-pei's are allergic to grains so this food is mostly lamb. I hope it helps.

So I'm gonna get off of here right now. Tchuss!!

We'll miss ya Jack

Friday was my birthday. Oct 19th. It was kind of a special birthday just because I was still around to celebrate it. But Friday evening I learned that Jack, our music director at church, had died. This is a HUGE loss for our church. He was one of the pillars of the church. He had been through a lot the past year. He was attacked by a buffalo last year and that almost killed him but he survived. He's also been through a lot more I will not elaborate on. But he will be sorely missed.

Oscar the super fish

I have had a fish tank for a while. I had a bunch of gold minnows and a couple of frogs. Over the course of time most of the fish and both frogs died. But I still have 5 fish. The tank started getting nasty but I was too lazy to clean it. So I went to the store this weekend and got an algae eater. I named him(her?) Oscar as ALL algae eaters are supposed to be named Oscar.

In the 3 or 4 days I have had him, he has turned a tank that was absolutely disgusting into a shiny sparkling place of beauty. I knew eventually he'd clean it but honestly I thought it would take at least 2 weeks. What a fish!!!!

How bout dem Chiefs?!?!?!?!?!?!?! LOL OK I'm getting a little too excited over a mediocre team but it happens every year. They're my hometown team so I will always root for them. And Mizzou? Oh, WTF happened? If you had beaten Oklahoma you would have been legitimate contenders for the #1 spot. But no, they showed they're still stuck in the mode of mediocrity.

So, nothing new going on. I've just been kinda feeling sorry for myself a bit. Not too much though. I think I'm within my right. I had a lot of shit happen this year. I still hurt quite a bit and I'm not eating very good. I can't believe how much this surgery has taken out of me. I just can't seem to recover the way I used too. But then again this is the biggest surgery I've ever had. I can't wait until I feel normal again. We were looking at some old home movies of when Tucker was a baby and Kim was shocked at how healthy I looked then. Maybe she realizes more how much this has kicked my ass. Not too mention the back problems that are just making it all worse.

But I survived and I WILL recover from this. I may walk with a cane for the rest of my life but who gives a shit. I'm here dammit. Fuck you cancer!!! Fuck you back problems!!! You will NOT beat me.

Damn, what a game!!!

I watched the Dallas-Buffalo game on Monday Night Football last night. Wow, now THAT was a game. Tony Romo threw 5 interceptions and fumbled once and STILL managed to come back and beat the Bills. That is why I watch football. The entire game looked like it was going the Bills way but the Cowboys managed to stay close.

And Mizzou is ranked 11th in the AP poll. That's pretty damn good. Go Mizzou!!!!

Changing subjects. Kim got Tucker a bowling game a few days ago. Picked it up at a thrift store for 37 cents. All the pieces are there and it works great. He loves it. Myself, well I'm a bit tired of it but as long as the boy is happy I'm ok.

It sure is quiet around here...

when the boy isn't here. He's spending the night with my parents. It's good that he gets out now and then. He sure does love his "Mom-mom and Papaw". They're awfully fond of him too. My brothers both have kids too but our parents rarely see them. It breaks their heart but there's nothing they can do. My brothers make it extremely difficult for them to see the kids. My brothers claim it's because they're so far away. They live in Kansas City and my parent live near Springfield Mo. But that excuse is horse shit because when my parents lived in KC they STILL didn't want to involve them in their grandkids lives.

It's gonna be trouble in the future when my niece and nephew realize that their grandparents are closer to my kid than them. It's not my parent's fault but you can bet your ass they'll be blamed for it. Somehow I probably will too. Oh well, my brothers are adults and I can't do anything about it.

Changing subjects now. I've been carrying a cane for about a month now due to my back. It really helps me out. Yeah, it's a little weird looking being 35 and already using a cane but I don't
give a rat's ass what other people think. I have a big heavy oak cane so I can also use it to knock the crap outta somebody if they need it.

I'm seriously considering starting martial arts training for use of the cane. One of the country's cane martial artists is in Branson Mo. His name is Professor Wayne Carman. He is in the Universal Martial Arts hall of fame. http://www.umahof.org/professorwaynecarman.htm

He is also famous for being one of the people who trained with Elvis. His "cane" classes run twice a week for $79 a month. He said I should pick up most of it in 3-4 months. However if I enjoy it I may stay around for more training in other things. I've picked up a few moves in my life but I've never formally studied martial arts but it's something I've always wanted to do. I will have to be careful with my back but I'm sure they can work around that.

Well I'm outta here!!!

Wow, did you see that game?

I mean the KC-San Diego game. What a surprise. Although I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. I don't think it was a matter of the Chiefs being really good, I think it was more the Chargers playing really bad. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Other than that not a whole lot going on. We went to a church social Saturday night. They had pony rides and Tucker rode the horses. He rode 2 times. The 1st time he rode by himself with Shelby(his babysitter) holding onto him from the side. He didn't get upset but you could tell he was a little scared. The next time he rode another girl from our church rode with him. He was a lot better that time. There was another girl about his age and she was screaming out of control. But not my boy, he did great.
