Weakening their own argument

My Mother in law had to go to the ER earlier tonight. She has some kind of chemical burn on her face. We took her to St Johns up in Springfield. 2 hours and counting. Of course NOTHING has been done to relieve her pain. Incompetent douchebags. We've had a few experiences at both St Johns and Cox up in Springfield. I've long argued that private health care is better than gov't run health care but these two places are doing their damnedest to prove me wrong. It doesn't matter what time of the day you go to the ER, you're gonna wait at least 2 hours. And supposedly they're "highly rated" hospital systems, if that is the case then maybe I'm wrong about the whole thing.

The Christmasmas season has begun

I've never been shopping on a "Black Friday" before so I was curious how it was. We went to Target at about 8 in the morning and it was friggin NUTS!!!!!! We also went to the mall and it was busy too. A trip to Lowe's and I was done. I'm not doing that again. I'll pay the extra damn money.

Thanksgiving was good, except because of my medicine I couldn't eat so I got to enjoy oatmeal, again. I eat tons of that crap because of my problems eating but oh well. It's better than starving. We also got the tree up this weekend, it looks good. We also put our little fiber optic tree up too. We need more ornaments for that one though. We had a little eggnog and Southern Comfort Saturday night after we put up the tree. Then I watched MU beat KU. It was great.

Of course the next day wasn't so good as the pathetic Chiefs got beat AT HOME by the 2-8 Raiders. Good ole Herm Edwards screwed up again. I don't know who's the bigger derelict. Him, or the derelict who hired him.(Carl Peterson)

So now we gotta start getting Christmas presents. I doubt we're spend much this year, things are still kinda tight around here but they're slowly coming around.

Well here I am again

We've been busy lately, trying to get everything ready for the holidays. We went to the town parade last Saturday. Tucker had a great time, he behaved great too. It was his 1st parade so it was kinda special. We've also been getting Christmas lists together and making plans about where and when we're all gonna get together.

We had a cold front move thru last night. It got things around here cold, of course my stupid ass always waits for the crappiest weather to change the wiper blades on my car. One of these days I'll learn. Maybe.

In football news, Priest Holmes retired today. That's too bad, he was a class act in a world where they are few and far between. He certainly has a lot more class than his successor.

I think my back is getting a little better, I still wish I had better medicine though. I'm still having trouble eating. But this medicine works and between that, me using a cane and just not doing too much stupid crap I'm OK. I still have way too many bad days and I still can't do a lot of the things I want but I'm certainly not gonna complain about any improvement.

So until next time, see ya.

Ricky Williams is back in the NFL

This has got to be a joke right? Now don't get me wrong, as I've said in the past I'm 100% against the drug war and believe that you should be able to buy pot as easily as alcohol. However, it pisses me off that the NFL pretends to be "good citizens" and make their players play by the rules but they get a hell of a lot more chances than regular people. If I was at a job that had an anti-drug policy and I peed positive on a piss test do you think I'd get 4 chances?

The NFL either needs to get serious or just stop it. It's their league and they have the right to run it how they want, I just find the hypocrisy annoying.

Of course you'd think that when the teenagers of the 60's and 70's got into politics they'd legalize it as quite of few of them know 1st hand that the hype about how "evil" the stuff is just that, hype. It would actually be a lot better of a medicine for my back than what I take now. The stuff I take now slows down my digestion and makes it hard for me to eat. It also messes with my appetite.

If you're not voting for Ron Paul next election you are contributing to the further decline of this country. Be part of the solution, not the problem.

It's been a while

Things have been busy around here. Tucker is growing so fast. He's counting and getting funny. The Christmas lights at the local park are already up so we've been there 3x already. Tucker loves it. He's nuts about Christmas lights but so am I so he comes by it honestly. I love the Christmas season. Both for the religious and secular reason.

I get into all the regular Christmas things like corny TV specials and Santa Claus but I also don't forget the real meaning of it either. The season usually refreshes my spiritually and reminds me that I needn't worry about little things. God, love, family and friends are the only things that really matter.

I feel so bad for the troops away from their families. I know how it feels. I had a hard time in the military but the hardest part by far was being away from my family on Christmas. I had never felt so lonely and far away. Despite my feelings toward the war I do support the troops. I want them home where they can celebrate Christmas with their families and loved ones.

So, I'll let you go for right now. See ya
